How To Improve Putting
A golf game can be ruined by putting. Those who frequent mini-golf venues can attest to how difficult some find this seemingly simple act. Many tend to over think putting, which often ends in embarrassment and frustration. There are a few tricks and reminders to keep in mind as you step up to sink that ball.
A positive attitude will go a long way; just make sure you do not get cocky as this will almost guarantee ruin. Keep the posture you assume during a full swing. Though the stance can be varied as well as the grip, just remember this is the only time such a change should be allowed. The motion here will be one of a pendulum and will only use your arms so keep those legs and hips still. Keep your eyes trained on the ball and not on the hole, the putter, or even those new shoes. When you are calm, ready, and confident that you will sink the ball, putt.
Practicing your putting is an activity that can provide hours of fun and one where you can bring in the entire family or just something you can do solo. A great way to practice alone is to set up a cup in the living room or office and use that as a target and attempt to get the balls into the cup. You can even set up goals or keep records of how many balls you get into the cup and then try to break those goals each day. A miniature golf course can also provide practice and you can bring the family along for a day outing. Many of these places will even allow you to bring in your own putter so you can get comfortable using it. The key, of course, to improving your putting is practice. Diligence will be rewarded by confidence and terrific performances on the green.
